January of 2018, I was arrested in Paulding County, Georgia for Simple Battery. The charge was dismissed in March of 2018 and the internal affairs investigation, conducted by the Georgia Department of Public Safety (Commonly referred to as the Georgia State Patrol), cleared me of wrong doing and I returned to work March 8, 2018.
Although this was an unfortunate experience, it forever changed how I interact and deal with persons whom i've had to arrest. The wisdom gained from this experience further ignited my principles of humility and compassion.
